Risograph Print - Snowy Owl (Owl Foundation Fundraiser)

In lieu of my usual holiday cards, I am offering an 11"x17" duotone risograph print for purchase. It is a signed edition of 25 and you can select which edition # you'd like below. All proceeds from this print ($45 each) will go to The Owl Foundation, a rehabilitation centre in the Niagara Peninsula that specializes in owls and other raptors - if a snowy owl is in need of emergency care and rehabilitation, these are the people that will help.

About this print:

This image is one of my machine learning generated snowy owls. I trained a StyleGAN2 model on a dataset of 5000+ exhaustively curated photographs of snowy owls scraped from Instagram - AKA I trained a computer to make new owl photos based on a bunch of photographs of real owls that I stole from the Internet.

This image was printed by Colour Code Print in Toronto as part of an intro to riso online workshop. If you are not familiar with riso printing - it is an environmentally-friendly way of producing printed material using soy-based ink and natural fiber stencils to create spot colour prints. Due to the nature of the printing process, there are small variations in ink coverage which make each print subtly unique, which makes it a nice way to present computer-generated images. The ink colours used in this print are Aqua (637 U) and Fluorescent Yellow (803 U).

A note on shipping:

The prints will be shipped in stay-flat mailers via Canada Post Regular. The lady at the post office repeatedly emphasized to me that there are no guarantees on delivery dates this time of year, but the standard is something like 4 days within Canada. I'll ship them out as they are ordered. The shipping cost is the best I could do, I am eating some of the packaging/shipping expense myself to keep it from being too exorbitant. If you really really want it by Christmas or something like that, talk to me and I can give you an Xpresspost/Purolator option but that may be $$$.
